Where to Find the Fuego / The Female aka Seventy Times Seven
Fuego / The Female aka Seventy Times Seven is a movie that everyone can enjoy together. This is something not usually seen in movies of this type, so it makes it an unusual, yet pleasant experience. The movie is absolutely stunning and Roberto Airaldi deliver some award winning performances in this movie. I also think Mnica Grey was great!
If you love watching Roberto Airaldi or Mnica Grey, you are deffinetly going to want to watch Fuego / The Female aka Seventy Times Seven.
Fuego (1968, 81 min.) means fire and Isabel Sarli is burning up! Argentina's greatest cinema sex symbol stars as Laura, a nymphomaniac who may very well be sexually insane. Despite the constant attention of her husband, Laura just can't be satisfied. Though she makes it with almost every man in sight, what really pushes her hubby over the edge is Laura's affair with Andrea, her lizard-like lesbian housekeeper. Plus: Choosing between her sheepherder husband or a fugitive horse thief sends Isabel Sarli straight to a whorehouse in "The Female" (1962, 94 min.), an Argentinean cross between Erskine Caldwell and a spaghetti western.

In Inspirations seven artists from the famous (the late Roy Lichtenstein, David Bowie) to the more obscure (Pueblo sculptor Nora Narango-Morse, French Canadian dancer Louise Lecavalier) discuss why they became artists and what it means to create as both a daily routine and a lifelong passion. Director Michael Apted (Enough, the Up documentaries) neatly avoids the usual talking-head format of documentaries by focusing on very visual subjects. Narango-Morse digs mud from the mountains and works it between her toes, glass artist Dale Chihuly instructs urban kids as they turn molten mass into colorful creations, and Lecavalier and partner dance in dramatic staccato, choreographed by film subject Edouard Lock. Revelations are surprising, such as when Bowie extols the calm of waking at dawn since he quit drinking and drugging, and candid, such as when Japanese architect Tadao Ando confesses that the ugliness of his home city Osaka inspired him to add beauty and spirituality to his designs. --Kimberly Heinrichs
